Nonviolent Communication Certification Community
“Our survival as a species depends on our ability to recognize that our well-being and the well-being of others are in fact one and the same.”
For those called to deepen their integration and embodiment of the principles and practice of Nonviolent Communication, as part of the Path of Unfolding Together there is a community-based approach to Certification with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
Our purpose is to support one another to co-create life-enriching systems in ourselves, in our communities, and in the world, with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) certification in service to this larger purpose.
We are committed to a deep and clear integration of the profound principles and distinctions of Nonviolent Communication, while embracing flexibility and evolution in form. We celebrate the insight and potency we experience in NVC, and we find value in complementary life-enriching modalities, to form an ecology of practices that supports whole-person and whole-system thriving.
“We are compassionate with ourselves when we are able to embrace all parts of ourselves and recognize the needs and values expressed by each part.”
We aspire to embody the essence and study the form of NVC at the personal, interpersonal, and systemic levels. To take time to do inner work to heal and reconnect to our innate capacity for compassion and curiosity, to engage in interpersonal practices such as exchanging conscious feedback and facilitating and learning from our conflicts with each other, and to contribute to social systems that are equitable, holistic and life-enriching.
The Nonviolent Communication certification community includes:
Regular in-person gatherings with abundant opportunities for co-creation and shared leadership, as well as apprenticeship learning and deepening practice
Monthly Zoom calls for community learning and connection
Weekly pod meetings (in person or on-line) of a small peer group for regular practice, support, and feedback
Collaborating on life-enriching projects in the world
Once a year, community members are asked to complete a self-reflection and self-evaluation to reflect on their unfolding vision, learning and practice journey, and next steps. Fellow community members, CNVC Certified Trainers and Assessors offer peer reflection.
“If I use NVC to liberate people to be less depressed, to get along better with their family, but not teach them, at the same time, to use their energy to rapidly transform systems in the world, then I am part of the problem. I am essentially calming people down, making them happier to live in the systems as they are, so I am using NVC as a narcotic.”
For those interested in joining this Nonviolent Communication certification community, we invite you to join an Unfolding Together gathering, as a way to get oriented to our approach of integrating inner, interpersonal and systemic dimensions of Nonviolent Communication, as well as multiple other life-enriching modalities.
